Hi friends,

Earlier this morning as I was talking with a customer at the coffee shop I work at, I was telling him about this opportunity that I have to go to the mission field, I realized that there may be a lot of people that read this that I have never met. So I wanted to hop on and give an introduction and tell you a little bit about myself!

To start off my name is Mikayla Runge and I am 22 years old. I have four sisters and one brother and we were all home schooled together by our amazing parents! I was born and raised in the city of Whittier and other surrounding cities here in southern California. Being home schooled allowed lots of family time for us, so growing up we spent lots of time playing board games or outside, camping, bike riding, rollerblading, and other fun activities together as a family. Growing up with a big family had many blessing and challenges but I would not trade it for anything, my family is very important to me and I love that I have a group of built in best friends and parents who love me and are going to support me wherever God leads. After high school I got my first job as a barista in fall of 2020, fell in love with it and have since continued pursuing the coffee world! Being a barista opened a part of me that I don't think I had figured out fully yet. I love people, making connections, and having conversations with all the people I cross paths with. I love the Lord too and have seen Him do amazing things in my life, I knew that I would want to share that with other people and find a way to love people and be a light. Working as a barista has brought so much joy to my life that I hope to have my own business one day! I also love concerts, reading, hiking or being outside in any capacity, hanging out with friends, as well as a new favorite hobby of crocheting. I hope that this helped you get to know me a little bit and will continue to add things in each post.
